This contract was for the provision of an outdoor community space at Lettershandoney which is located past Drumahoe in Derry/Londonderry. The community space was ideally located in a large housing development in close proximity to the local Community Centre, grass pitch, play park and local primary schooli for use by all members of the community. The project included the demolition of existing fencing, lighting and other existing structures.

The Works also included minor earthworks, drainage, fencing, road signage, flood lighting & the construction of bitmac/synthetic grass surfaces and soft landscaping.

Mourne Park Play Park

Mourne Park Play Park at Newtownstewart
A community space transformed..

The brief was to supply and construct a play area facility at Mourne Park, Newtownstewart. The Works involved the demolition of existing hard structures, minor earthworks, drainage, kerbing, laying new bitmac paths (including footpaths for adoption by Department for infrastructure), supply and installation of play equipment, zip line, cradle and junior swings, gravity rider and big city unit, together with associated synthetic safety surfacing all ROSPA safety tested. 

The scheme also included bespoke steel fencing, (with in-situ poured concrete plinth), installation of street furniture, soft landscaping and other minor civil works. The proposed works includes the termination/removal of an existing adopted lighting column currently located within the site.

St Columb’s Park Avenue

St Columb’s Park Avenue
Enhancing a well developed parkland and leisure space.

To formalise the main entrance to St Columb’s Park, Londonderry, a 70 acre municipal park with medieval church, leisure centre and sports pitches with a new shared pedestrian and vehicular avenue from the existing entrance to St. Columb’s Park House to St Columb’s Road. This new avenue replaced an existing sinuous and undersized access road slightly too narrow to perform for volume of traffic.

The civil engineering works included creation of a temporary road, demolition of site fixings, entrance walls and pillars, lighting and street furniture and construction of new entrance walls, Derry Schist stone, new roadway, lighting installation and street furniture.

Castle Hume Golf Clubhouse

Castle Hume Golf Clubhouse, Enniskillen

Test all sewer outlets from the Clubhouse and checking all existing sewer locations and invert levels.

New line for sewers and manholes were agreed and levels set up so that piling on the new sewer lines could commence. A 6-inch sewer was laid across car park from pump sump.

A temporary access to Clubhouse was set up and signage erected to minimise disruption to golfers and staff.

The new sewer was laid in the piled area and all trenches backfilled with Type 3 stone and new manholes fitted.

Connection of all existing sewer pipes and 150 PVC sewer was laid in site area and connected, before reinstating all areas disturbed.

The brief was to dismantle and remove 2620m of fencing, supply materials and repair 2470m existing fencing and supply materials to: erect 3330m of new stock-proof fencing, install 20 gates and gateposts, install 4 stiles and one kissing gates at Montiaghs Moss SAC ASSI, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The RSPB in Northern Ireland is improving the lowland raised bog habitat at Montiagh’s Moss SAC / ASSI in County Antrim while maintaining the current suitability for Marsh Fritillary butterflies and Irish Damselflies.  The habitat improvement will be made possible by vegetation and water management works.
